News From Spring 2024

Spring has sprung in Los Angeles and we are taking a leap into our future with excitement and fervor. I am thrilled about our new Marketing team as they embark on rebranding, social media promotion and continuous educational messages that will reach more of an audience/market that needs our services. Finding the right candidates took time but I am certain the decision I made was the right one.
I am also proud of the fact that Wellness on Wheels has survived 24 years in business. Twenty four years in the year 2024. My team and I have continuously provided support and quality services to our community both in person and virtually. Recently I was called upon to handle a health crisis for a friend who is an important local community leader. My friend Missy is the President of the Beachwood Community Neighborhood Association. She is an advocate herself and offers an abundance of resources to all of us living in this beautiful community. So, when I was asked to step in and assist in Missy’s crisis that landed her in a hospital for a longer than normal stay, I hit the ground running. Within 48 hours I answered the call to action and got her home safely. Missy wrote a beautiful testimonial in our neighborhood newsletter and I cannot resist sharing it with you.

Keep warm and focus on your mental and physical health.
Cheers.
Gigi

Topic of the Month: Stress Management

We would like to take a moment to acknowledge the month of April as stress awareness month. As one of the most crucial aspects of health and well-being, stress management plays a vital role in maintaining good health physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. There are many tools and techniques that one can use to reduce stress levels. Creating daily practices that focus on building the good in our lives can help us not only by reducing stress levels, but it can have a positive impact on our overall outlook on life, creating a deeper feeling of belonging, connectedness, and value.
One simple and accessible technique that I find helpful as a method of stress reduction is an exercise called Three Good Things. In this exercise, at the end of each day before going to bed, we take a journal and write three good things that happened that day. These can range from something like a visit from a grandchild to even having noticed a beautiful flower during a walk. This serves us in a few simple ways. Because we focus on something positive before sleep, it can help support a deeper sleep state and a more peaceful morning awakening. It also forces us to create the habit throughout each day of searching for the good things, the beauty, and cultivating an overall more positive mindset.
The modern world that we live in can often be a confusing and lonely place to navigate. Without having the proper support and tools in our toolbox, it can often lead to stress and overwhelm. If you, a parent, a grandparent, or a loved one struggle with stress management and feel that you can benefit from additional tools, we will be providing more techniques that you can access through our social media outlets and newsletters. But before any of that, spring is here and the first step is to take a step outside, feel the sunlight, smell the new blooms, and remember to smile.
